I’ve written this paper to share a few details about each and will compare them both. Here’s the beginning. Odysseus has always wanted to come back to his wife after the Trojan War and his life was filed with hardships from almost being eaten by a cyclops to getting almost killed by a god. Yet he has always pulled through and eventually returned to his wife after ten long and hard years. Everett had escaped from prison after robbing a bank and getting caught with the faithful friends of his: Pete and Delmar. Together they face the sheriff that was hunting them down while they were on the run. A few days afterwards they face the KKK and a one-eyed man named Big D. In O, Brother, Where Art Thou Big D represents the cyclops that tries to kill Odysseus and gets stabbed in the eye, Big D gets flattened by a burning cross that was ten feet tall. …show more content…
Odysseus treats his men with respect if they can do their jobs right but still at least he respects them. Everett treats his friends like his brothers but, when they make a bad decision he doesn’t let it go easily. Both are men that are trying to get back to their wife and find out that it’s unlikely but still try their hardest. Odysseus’ wife had a bunch of suiters attempting to marry her, yet she holds strong and waits for her husband to come back. Everett’s wife was engaged to be married and had already stopped wanting to marry him. He didn’t give up throughout his journey and eventually got her to see that he was the better choice than her old
