I think that Campbell's theory is easily applied to The Lion King than Volger’s theory. Campbell’s theory, in my opinion, has more steps that are more elaborate compared to Volger’s steps which are generalized. For example, Campbell’s theory have threes steps describing the progress of the hero, but in Volger’s theory e has one step describing the progress. In Campbell’s his steps were belly of the whale, road of trials, and meeting with the goddess. During these steps Simba learns and progresses into a mature adult lion. He also meets his friends and enemies. In Volger’s theory his one step is called tests, allies, and enemies. Here Simba meets his friends and matures in one big step instead of three.
