Columbus and Lindbergh both made successful journey’s across the Atlantic Ocean. Christopher Columbus left Pablos,Spain on August 3rd 1492. He brought 3 ships along with him. The Pinta,The Nina and The Santa Maria. His goal was to go to India and China to trade for spices and gold. He found the Bahamas, and then North America. Charles Lindbergh was known for his 3,610 mile flight in thirty four. hours, making him the first man to successfully fly over the Atlantic Ocean non-stop. His plane was the “Spirit of St Louis”, It was named that because of all the supporters in St Louis, Missouri who helped pay for the plane. His goal was to win the Orteig prize of $25,000 reward for flying from New York to Paris non-stop.

Christopher Columbus was born on October 31, 1451. He was born in the republic of Genoa, Italy. His Dad was a wool weaver, His Mom was a housewife, He had four siblings. As a teenager he had worked on a merchant ship and that was what inspired him to be on the Sea. Charles Lindbergh was born on February,4th,1902. He was born in Detroit, Michigan,U.S.A. His Father was a Lawyer and Politician, As a teenager he excelled in mechanical engineering, but had a passion for aviation. In 1925 He joined the U.S Army as a reserve Pilot. He was then hired afterward as a Mail pilot for a company in St.Louis.
