Throughout history, there has been an abundance of great works and writings by extraordinary people that have, in some ways, impacted societies and nations. Two of the most influential pieces, for western civilizations, were the United States Constitution and the Communist Manifesto. These two differ in numerous ways, but one of the dissimilarities that stands out is that the Constitution supports the right to own private property while the Communist Manifesto favors abolishing it. Another difference is that the Communist Manifesto is in favor of heavy taxation while the Constitution approves fair and lower taxes. The final difference that stood out for me is that on one hand, the Communist Manifesto is for one social class in which everyone is economically equal, and on the other hand, the Constitution has a capitalistic and more liberal approach. A way to look on how that is to point on the conflicts between the countries that followed these writings. Their differences were necessary in order for countries to have struggles. For instance, the United states and the Soviet Union, one supported democracy and capitalism while the other was based on communism. The United States was peacefully, at times, imposing democratic ways to run the government on other nations, and some of those nations were under communist regimes, including Cuba and the Soviet Union. I believe that the United States Constitution and the Communist Manifesto have had a positive impact overall in today’s world. On one side, communism brought stronger social communities ideals and the development of the proletariat. And on the other side, the United States Constitution is a strong adherent of freedom of speech, religion, which protects the rights of minorities, and allows the government to become responsible for their
