Even when two kings are significantly similar, there are also difference between these two great rulers. To begin with, Cyrus focused in uniting and emerging his people and the people he conquered instead of going off to war on invading and conquering other lands. Although he was interested on conquering and expanding his power, he would only do it if only he knew that he has the trust and loyalty of all of his men. For instance, Cyrus would only attack Lydia if he knew he has the trust of all of his subject. Like said, Cyrus respected the beliefs of the people whom he ruled over and establishes racial equality between the people. However, Cyrus the Great was a better ruler and leader than Alexander the Great. Undoubtedly, Alexander the Great was military genius, a conqueror, and a superb warrior, however he was no founder. He inherited a powerful kingdom that had already conquered Greece and making its way in Asia and he also inherited a phenomenal military thanks to his father, King Philip. Alexander was ambitious in conquering the world, that he lost foresight of uniting his people and the people he conquered. Alexander did respect the beliefs of the people he conquered for instance Egypt which he became a Pharaoh, but others revolted against him soon after he passed on to another conquest. On the later years of his reign, he became less indulgent that resulted in horrible consequences. Alexander the Great did not institute any laws for the betterment of his kingdom. After he died at an age of thirty-two, the powerful kingdom of Macedonia crumbled and was divided into three parts controlled by his general. In contrary, Cyrus the Great ascended to a throne controlled by his grandfather, King Astyages who was not a very good ruler. He arouse and fought for the kingdom with Harpagus and overthrew the king. Cyrus then started conquering and lands such as Lydia, Asia Minor and Babylonia fell in his power. With this triumphs, he was able to built the first empire the mankind has ever seen that spanned from Egypt and extended through Mesopotamia to the Indus River. He was a skillful ruler who employs wisdom and tolerance. For instance, he let them speak their own language, practice their own religion, and follow how they live life. It is because of this that he was quickly admired and respected from the people he conquered. Cyrus showed them generosity; for instance when he let the Jews go back to Palestine and allowed Hebrews to return back to Jerusalem who have been held captives in Babylon
