The Democratic-Republicans’ method of running the country were more effective than the Federalists in terms of aspects like westward expansion, economic policy, national unity, and foreign policy. They have helped with the founding of new land westward. They also managed to rise again after economic downfalls. Also, the Democratic-Republicans decided to cooperate with the Federalists for national unity and quelling sectionalism.

Even though they failed the War of 1812, what followed was a better relationship between the Americans and the British; as for the battle that followed the War of 1812, Battle of New Orleans, the Americans actually managed to win that. Even though they were restricted by the Sedition Acts, that did not completely obliterate their policies; what How they managed to deal with foreign relations is another proof that the Democratic-Republicans have the ability to rehabilitate the nation.
Lastly, they have decided to adopt some Federalist ideas in order to promote national unity and subdue the sectionalism that is happening. As stated before, they decided to follow some of the Federalist economic policies such as a national bank. Even though they had opposition against some of each other’s ideas, they still managed to compromise and come together to a consensus; this proves the Democratic-Republicans have the ability to solve issues with their rivals. Without the Democratic-Republicans being able to carry out this policy, there would still be sectionalism and debate between the two
