The courageous Miss Jane Pittman Miss Jane Pittman when through a lot she lived for a hundred and ten years. She was a slave and also a witness to militancy in 1960’s. She was extraordinary and had so much knowledge. I learned about her in my English class and was also provided the opportunity to watch the movie. Compared to the movie there were defiantly some flaws and somethings not added that were in the book. It was easy for me to compare the book to the movie because of how much detail was provided. Besides the book to movie comparisons I see a compare and contrast between characters that were portrayed in the book and movie. For some characters portrayed a sense of symbolism and a deep type of meaning which caused a sense of emotion. In the book Jane was having dreams that a black horse was going to kill her love Joe Pittman. So when she saw Joe try to break a black horse which symbolized death for that she got worried. She had every right to because Joe came back pulled by the horse. For the horse killed him, just as Jane thought. Joe didn’t take the warning. But in the movie Joe was breaking a white horse which symbolizes purity. For that it takes away …show more content…
Ned grew up and saw and wanted to make a change, make a difference. But it was hurting his mama so he went away for many years to make a change. He later years later came back to see Jane but the community disagreed of what Ned believed in and someone killed him because of it, Because of the cause he wanted to change. On the other hand, Jane rose and cared for jimmy years after later. Jimmy got into the civil rights and later returns home for what I call an act of disobedience following a protest at the court house. In the act of the protest a young lady was arrested by drinking out of a white water fountain. In the protest Jimmy was
