The Truman Show can be compared to Marry Shelly's Frankenstein novel because Dr. Frankenstein is trying to be a god like figure and creating and manipulating life. Christof in The Truman Show adopts a child, Truman, as part of a company to control Truman's life. Both Dr. Frankenstein and Christof are consumed by the desire to control what they created. Christof feels a sort of success of his creation when the show becomes famous. Both Christof and Dr. Frankenstein become dependent on their creation for success. A man named Truman is the first man adopted my a corporation and put onto a TV show not being told that he in on a TV show. Everyone around him is actors that play his friends, family, neighbors and acquaintances. He lives on Seahaven Island, which is the set to The Truman Show. This set is controlled by a man named Christof. He is the creator of The Truman Show. Christof needs a way to keep Truman from getting out of Seahaven, so he developes a plan to make Truman's “father” drown when Truman wants to continue to sail on the boat. Christof sets the weather to become windy and set the water to have many waves. This incident makes Truman afraid of the water. One day a light falls from the sky in front of Truman's house.
