Compare And Contrast Freakonomics And Part Time Indian

In the 2007 novel of Part Time Indian( PTI) Junior is living in a poor community and thinks of himself as a less class citizen. He wants to get out the indian reservation and go to a white school ,Where he thinks there are more opportunities. In freakonomics an economist named Venkatesh was very curious as to how drug dealers lived and so he interview them so he could understand how they lived. He later found that they didn't make as much money as people think and were still living in poverty, people wanted to get out as well but they couldn't.
Within Freakonomics and PTI a major difference between both books is the life experience. In Freakonomics, JT has lived a longer life and has a lot better understanding of who he is. ‘“It’s a war out here, man,” I mean, everyday people struggling to survive … if that means getting killed, well, shit, it’s what niggers do around here to feed their families¨ (Freakonomics page 10) , J.T graduated college went back to the projects where him and the gang had a very tough time, he has lived through it all, making him not only book smart but also street smart.
