My school is similar to Hatboro-Horsham High School because technology is available for the teachers to use to enhance lessons to engage their students. My school is different from Hatboro-Horsham High School because Hatboro-Horsham have a technology coach to assist the teachers with technology integration and supported them with lesson plan revisions to select key content concepts that can be enhanced through the use of technology. Technology coach also help the teachers use the smart classroom to allow the students to demonstrate knowledge in innovative ways. Another way Hatboro-Horsham is different from my school is the math teacher used technology such as Cognitive Tutor, Geometer Sketchpad and SynchonEyes which allowed him to move between …show more content…
The increased technology usage permits students to create, problem solve, research, collaborate, and interact globally. Students who uses technology as a tool or a support for communicating with others would be changing their role as well as the teacher’s role. The teacher will no longer the center of attention as the dispenser of information, but rather plays the role of facilitator. Students have the ability to learn and express themselves in their individual learning style too. The long-term effects of increased technology on both students and teachers at my school. When technology is integrated into a classroom, things change. Instruction through technology give students more control over their learning environments and access to a wider range of materials to use in the learning process. For example, students are too confused or embarrassed to ask questions because they don’t want to show their ignorance but with increased technology integration students can always immediately request help if something is unclear. Technology in classroom help to make it more interactive. They are extremely effective with the struggling learners because they have unlimited patience. Technology can also be used to educate the smarter students who easily get bored in a traditional classroom since they reach their goal faster. For these bright students, the challenges that technology can offer encourage self-directed learning. Also, the use of technology fosters collaboration among student. Another long-term effect is that the teacher’s role changes. Teachers often find themselves acting more as coaches and less as lecturers. As a result, students are given much more individual attention due to the nature of some technologies. Classrooms with use of technology have students with positive attitudes, and a greater inclination to learn, and an increase in student achievement too. The students
