Fat Boy and Little Man the devastation of Japan A war that has been going on for years can end, but to do so President Truman has to make a decision that could completely destroy a country and leave long term effects on it. WWII ended and soon after President Truman was told about the Manhattan project, which was a secret project to make the first nuclear bombs. He found out that the Manhattan scientists constructed two bombs that could end the war between the United States and Japan, on July 25, President Truman approved for the dropping of the bombs on Japan to end the war. Now WWII would be effected by Fat Boy and Little Man, the two bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, due to the race to create an atomic bomb, the detonation of the bombs, and the final outcome. The Manhattan Project, was a secret project of the constructing of the atomic bombs used during WWII. It took 27 months to complete what other nations and the united states thought was impossible. The radiation from the bombs affected people by the destruction of stomach and intestinal fluids, destruction of bone marrow, and anemia killing most of the victims within 30 days. Even still today people are dying from the radiation of the bombs, so due to radiation Hiroshima and Nagasaki have become sights of the biggest mass murder events in history. In modern times the radiation effects pregnant women and gives some babies birth defects. How long the radiation will last and effect Japan is unknown, it could be a 100 years or even 100,000 years.
