In the book “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, Johnny and Dally are hospitalized due to their condition. They were both injured by being in the burning church. Johnny and Dally are very different in many ways but, one similarity is that they don’t have family support. Johnny’s dad beats him while his mother sits there and watches.
