Julius Caesar has always been considered one of the greatest military leaders of all time. Winning wars and bringing reforms to Rome. Likewise, Abraham Lincoln has also had a good leadership reputation amongst most people mostly because of his involvement in the emancipation of slaves, and the saving of the Union. He showed interest in politics obtaining key government positions from a young age. One thing that helped Julius Caesar to start his domination was his alliance with Pompey. He showed interest in practicing law. Having already taught himself math and grammar, Lincoln started reading law books. He passed the bar exam and began to work as a lawyer. Lincoln worked hard in the Illinois State legislature, later serving a term in Congress. After a few political up and downs and a period of small political progress, he became president number 16 of the United States, leading a war and preserving the Union, signing the Emancipation Proclamation bringing freedom to many slaves. The abolition of slavery brought joy to some; others were not happy about it. That was the case of 26-year-old John Wilkes Booth that three days after the end of the Civil War shot and killed Lincoln.
