Napoleon and Hitler's invasions were similar to each other as a result of they had both invaded quickly and with massive and strong armies. Napoleon invaded Russia with 420,000 men. Because the Russians retreated they burned all the fields and slaughtered all of the animals, so that the enemy had nothing to eat. They marched onto the capital of the Russian Federation and burned it before the enemy got there.
Napoleons troops weren't ready for the bitter cold. Several of them had died from cold, exhaustion, and hunger. Of 420,000, only 10,000 were left. Hitler found equivalent things once he invaded Russia. The soviets had a large army, however were poorly ready and not very well trained or prepared. Once they began to retreat, they burned
