The Qin Dynasty and the Aztec Empire have contributed greatly to their regional society and international society. The Qin and Aztec Empires have contributed to today’s society through the Aztec development of Chinampas farming that paved the way for modern technology which allows us to farm anywhere in water, and the Qin development of infantry soldiers and cavalry advancements still used today. The advancements of the Qin and Aztec empires will be discussed as well as how these advancements are reflected in today’s society. Finally, the developments of these empires will be reviewed to see how they contribute to modern society or led to today’s advances in society.
The Qin dynasty had many developments, such as centralized language and public infrastructure systems throughout the dynasty. (Peralta, 2014). Centralized language and public infrastructure enabled advancements in trade, military, and industry (Peralta, 2014). For example, the Qin dynasty built the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. The Qin also envisioned the concept of infantry or drafted military personnel which were used on an as needed basis during times of war. This concept is similar to the Army Reserves we have today. The Qin made many advancements in the realm of public infrastructure. On the other hand, many may argue that the most important achievement of the Qin was their development of infantry and implementation of a professional army. The Qin had a major military power during their reign which did aid in their massive empire, but the infrastructure allowed them to travel more efficiently and protect China more effectively.
