If you were a warrior would you rather have a double sided straight sword or a long one sided curved sword. The knights were the warriors of Europe and were made when barbarians were threatening to take over Europe so they built castles and created a new feudal system. They created new classes for their new feudal system like kings, nobles, peasants, and knights.The samurai were the warriors of the feudal aristocratic Japan when a soon to be emperor decided to make a lot of whole new classes including the samurai class. This was a warrior class made to protect the shoguns land. The samurai wore a kimono with light metal plating and had two swords, the katana which was 2 and a half feet long and a wakashu which was a short sword which was used for suicide and close quarter combat. The armor was made out of plates so it was very light and it was made so the samurai could perform martial arts in their armor. The swords were better because if he lost one of his swords he could replace it with another. Also the wakashu was so small so it could be hidden for escapes or suicide. A knight's armor though was a heavy set of steel armor and a double bladed sword. There armor didn't focus on movement but on protection and it was very durable. There sword was made for double handed ( even though it could be held with one hand) and it was made for close combat. I think because it was very light I think that the samurai's armor and weapons would beat a
