(1400s -1800s) People from all over the country of Africa were taken from their families and friends for manual labor, being treated like peasants with no rights and that’s what Shyima and Frederick Douglass had to go through.
They both weren’t treated like they were suppose to be treated, Frederick douglass on the other hand, he was born a slave and has no memory of where he was from or of how old he was or when he was born, his father was his master but still treated him like all the slaves in the plantation his mother was a servant to a different master so fredrick and her mother were separated when he was an infant so he had no recondition of her being his mother.
