The choices we make play a major role in determining whether people are necessarily good in nature. As humans, we are put into situations in which we have to make difficult choices. Sometimes these choices aren’t always right, and pain becomes inevitable. We hurt others, even ourselves. In A Christmas Carol, a man realizes the negative influence of his behavior and eventually practices kindness. In The Tell Tale Heart, the protagonist commits murder and denies his insanity. Both protagonists make personal choices depending on their own circumstances, challenging the goodness of their character.
In A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, a man named Scrooge is introduced as a “hard” character. Scrooge lives darkness and could care less about
