Power is a big thing in life. It can take over people and change how they act. For example When Barack Obama became president in 2008 that change his life because he had way more power than a citizen of the U.S. In the story “The Man In The Well” and “The Stanford Prison Experiment” they both give examples of how power can corrupt people. Power is to strong for many people they aren’t used to it and it can make them go insane or act more rude than usually.

Zimbardo made a fake prison for people to try out. The fake guards changed during the time because of power. An example of this is In the story it says “Within hours of beginning the experiment some guards began to harass some prisoners. They behaved in a brutal and sadistic manner, apparently enjoying it.” This happens because the guards now that they have control completely over the prisoners and can say whatever they want to them and the prisoners can’t backtalk or else they are gonna get hurt. The guards now they won’t get in trouble for harassing the prisoners and sometimes they will take it to far just like we break rules sometimes.

One last example from the “The Stanford Prison Experiment” is in the story it says One prisoner had to be realised after 36 hours because of uncontrollable bursts of screaming, crying and anger.” This is because the power completely corrupted the guards and the were acting insane to the prisoners. After the experiment ended a lot of prisoners and guards said they couldn’t picture themselves doing that sort of
