Nikola Tesla vs. Thomas Edison Throughout history, inventors everywhere have stepped up to present their ideas to the world and many have made significant contributions. Some of the contributions and inventions are frequently used today. Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla were perhaps two of the best inventors, who impacted our economy and society today. The luxuries we have today wouldn't have been possible without the effort and creations by inventors like Edison and Tesla. According to Actipost, their invention of alternating and direct currents were the basic foundation for mass communication and electrical appliances.
Thomas Edison wasn’t as quick as Tesla, but he was very precise, careful, and detailed. Using careful depicted notes, he spent all day adjusting machines, often found with many springs and coils surrounding his work area. Using the direct current, he attempted to improve the light bulb. The vacuum found in bulbs today were discovered and tinkered by Tesla. Though his vacuum was successful, his student, Nikola Tesla, eventually surpassed his achievement by creating a more efficient one. Angered by this, Tesla resigned when Edison refused to pay him. After this, Thomas Edison refused to quit. In 1877, Edison was set on improving the telegraph. Instead, he created a machine that could record and playback noises and music, called the phonograph.
