In the stories Ashputtle and Cinderella, there are many differences in them, but there are also many things that are the same. For instance, Ashputtle and Cinderella’s mother dies in both stories and their fathers both remarried to women that 2 children. In both of the stories Ashputtle and Cinderella are forced to become servants in their own homes.
One of the differences between them is in Ashputtle, Ashputtle’s father is present throughout the entire story, but in Cinderella,Cinderella’s father is nowhere to be seen in the story. A big difference that happens between Ashputtle and Cinderella is Ashputtle goes to the royal ball three times, while Cinderella only goes to the royal ball once. Something that is the same but still different is in Ashputtle, the evil stepmother tells Ashputtle that the only way she can go to the ball is if she picks out two bowlfuls of lentils out of the ashes in one hour she can go to the ball, but in Cinderella the evil stepmother tells Cinderella if she can find something to wear and can have all of her chores done in an hour she can go to the ball. Another difference is in Ashputtle the prince goes all around the kingdom and the stepsisters cut off parts of their feet to make the shoe fit but the two doves would say “Roocoo,roocoo there’s blood in the shoe, the
