Comparing Babies To Tulips: A Narrative Poem

I chose to write an 18 lined poem, I consider this poem a narrative poem because it has characters and it tells a little story of a baby being born. this poem is a closed poem that follows a rhyme scheme of A,A,B,B,C,C,D,D,E,E,F,F,G,G,H,H, I,I. this is a free verse poem and doesn’t have strict unstressed/stressed pattern. This poem contains similes such as on line one when it compares babies to tulips. There is also another comparison at the bottom of the poem in the last two lines. The comparison there is saying that tulips need certain things to grow just like babies do. There is alliteration on line eight of the poem, there is the same sounding ‘st’ in the words “strong sturdy stem.” There is also assonance in my poem on line five, using
