Capital punishment is the legally authorized killing of someone as a punishment for a crime. Both “The Bet” and an episode of “The Twilight Zone” called “The Silence” were based on the same ideas of capital punishment. In each of these “stories,” the death penalty and imprisonment for life were compared. “The Bet” described lifelong imprisonment as killing you slowly. Where as Capital punishment, “kills a man at once.” When discussing this subject, so many things have to be considered. No one should have the authority to end a man’s life, besides God. Some may believe its too dangerous for particular people to be breathing the same air they do. Others think it is pointless to pay for the expenses of a man that doesn’t deserve anything.
