There are many other differences in the of both stories. Evey in the film works at the propaganda ministry where she meets Gordon. In the propaganda ministry V broadcasts his message to England earlier than in the book. V basically kidnapped Evey and forced her to help him assassinate a bishop. While V killed the bishop, Evey was able to escape from V. Evey goes to Gordon on purpose in order hide herself from V and the government, but doesn’t start a romantic relationship with him because he a homosexual in the film. Gordon is executed by the government rather than the mob when he makes satirical remarks about the high chancellor. In the raid on Gordon’s house, V, disguised as a fingerman, arrest Evey and interrogates her in the hopes of changing her for the better. Just like in the novel Evey finds solace in Valerie’s letter and refuses to give up, passing V’s test. V reveals himself to Evey once more and Evey is outraged at V, but she realizes what V wanted her to realize and becomes stronger as a person. Evey leaves V promising him that she would come back on the fifth of November. V in the novel is god-like, mentally and physically. He knows what to do and when to do it. In the film V has a plan, but admits that he has worries and doubts. He shows greater emotions than his novel counterpart. The film version of V seems more human. That may be the point the director of the movie wishes to convey. The idea of V as an everyman is far greater if V himself is prone to making mistakes, if he is perfectly human. In the film he loves and worries like everyone else. He finds joy in life does not want to leave it, but he ultimately must. V isn’t a rallying point and something to be worshipped, but rather a goal, something that everyone should try to
