Do you know anyone who plays both chess and basketball? I do both and I use Grit to become better at them both. I also use grit for working out, which is part of preparing for basketball. My life success is dependent upon using grit, which requires perseverance, passion, and not giving up.
First off, I have shown grit through perseverance, and this is one of the first steps to having and exercising grit. Firstly, I have shown grit through perseverance through the weights class I used to be in. For example, just this weekend I was playing chess with Matt, and I gave him a free knight. Most people would have resigned in my position, but I decided not to, and I ended up winning with a very impressive “pawn storm”. Therefore, instead of giving up, I got more playing experience during the game and ended up causing him to be the one to resign. For all of these reasons, I clearly use passion
