Stars and Stripes Forever is universally recognizable as the National March of the United
States. Virtually synonymous with patriotism, it is predictably among the selections played at any event of national importance, including parades, military events and Independence Day celebrations. Stars and Stripes Forever is most often played by the Marine Band for presidential events, and is responsible for the Marine Band’s rise out of obscurity. Bierley (1984), says
