Both Malcolm X from “THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MALCOLM X" and Eliezer from “NIGHT” have characteristics that they both used in different ways. In the beginning of Eliezer’s life he was very involved in his spiritual life before he was sent to all the camps. After he was sent to the camps and going through very rough times he ended up losing most of his religion. In the beginning of Malcolm’s life he was not involved in a spiritual life at all and was considered a rebel. After Malcolm was sent to a foster home, it was a step toward success and he made all the right moves from there as he became later a leader for black rights.

When Malcolm was a young boy he was a quiet one and an observer. He saw all the racism and it hit home when his father was killed by white racists. He had many difficult moments when he was a young boy and it led him to different stages in his life. In the beginning he wanted to be like a normal boy in a mostly white school, but he wasn’t able to because of the white kids and the white teachers. At first there was connection between Malcolm and Elijah as he took over. He became huge as he started his own newspaper, and he became a huge public speaker venting his own views with a huge following. After the fact there was a split between Malcolm and Elijah, then he was looked at no more as a minister. After starting his own organization in New York, Malcolm decided to take a trip to Mecca and it changed him completely. Malcom’s experiences in different places really shape who he was.
