When I was done reading Marge Piercy’s“Barbie Doll” and Judy Brady’s “Why I Want a Wife,”. I am my understanding was how both authors carry similar messages [themes] but in a different format. The message is about how women are justified and that they more likely have to live their lives similar to males. It also explains where their role is to satisfy men.

Marge PiercySharon Olds starts off the poem by describing the “Barbie Doll.” By using weird language not commonly heard in poems like this, she portrays the doll’s innocence.
