So after getting the short end of the stick from his father's inheritance the son is deciding what to do with the cat in the trickster tale “Master Cat.” In “Master Cat” the youngest son of a miller was poor and could not afford to eat so he was going to eat the cat but before he did the cat spoke to him and requested a few items so he could provide for his master and not be eaten. So the cat lies to a king telling him of his rich master with was not, so the king and his daughter looked at all of his land and castle so the king says the miller's son could marry his daughter and he would be married into a wealthy kingdom. The first similarity is that both tricksters are animals and it is stated in the titles “Master Cat” and “In Coyote Steals Fire.” The second similarity is they both set goals to try and accomplish to help themselves and others. Another similarity is they all use anthropomorphism by talking like in “Master Cat” he talks to his owner to help him and in “Coyote Steals Fire” Coyote talks or taunts the Thunder God when he won the fire. Also both trickster tales audiences were pointed at children to enjoy them with all the interesting events that happen within them.
