Throughout history, men have always wondered what the future will hold. With some looking to the stars and using psychic fortune tellers to learn their fates(prep), and still others making bold and wild predictions, men have always been fascinated with things to come. 1989 brought dreams to life with the release of Back to the Future II, starring Michael J. Fox. This film shows Fox coming to 2015, just a few days ago in fact, and the future that he finds is vastly different from the future we know to be true. Notably, we are going to see an end to secrecy like the show, Person of Interest. This show follows two men as they use a machine that taps into every camera in the world to help people who don’t even know that they need to be helped yet. This reality is looming because we are all “plugged in.” Running away from this reality will do one no good(part), instead than running however, one ought to embrace this coming end to anonymity. Likewise, it is ironic, I think, that with all of our social media outlets(Dep), people still fret over the idea that they are not able to hide their face from the open marketplace of the screen. This is one of those technological fallacies that we have brought upon ourselves. Being foolish, we have allowed technology to control our lives. On the contrary, becoming entwined with the medical world is an example of how it will be beneficial to us in the coming years. With the advancements of robotics in the recent years(prep), it is feasible that robots will be able to take over for doctors in completing simple tasks such as drawing blood or running tests for various diseases.
