At just age 13, Miyamoto Musashi was just at the beginning of his fame. Little did he know, that he’d become one of the world’s greatest samurais. He was born in 1584 in a town called Harima Province during a time of great civil wars. He lived with his father Shinmen Munisai, who was a very accomplished swordsman and a master of juttejutsu. From a very early age Musashi's father began teaching him everything he knew, as it was a tradition in Samurai families. Because Musashi’s mother died soon after he was born, his father remarried.
