Great power should only be given to people who deserve it. Having too much power can lead people to becoming very strong headed. Hitler is an example of someone who has too much power. He had so much that he was able to use it to kill millions of innocent people. We go through lots of different procedures to pick representative to showcase our country through elections. Which is because we do not want that much power being in the wrong hands. So what happens if too much power is given to one person or group of people? Abigail and the other girls are called to the stands after Parris admits to seeing them dancing in the woods. During the midst of the trial Abigail is being questioned, to distract the court she suddenly starts screaming along with the girls that the bird on the ceiling is coming down to attack her. On page 118 it says, “she and all the girls run to one wall, shielding their eyes. and now; as though cornered, they let out a gigantic scream, and mary, as though infected, opens her mouth and screams with them. Gradually Abigail and the other girls leave op, until mary is left there, staring up at the “bird”, screaming madly.” the girls manipulated the court by lashing out and acting as if Mary Warren was using witchcraft to send a bird down to attack them. They got everyone in the courtroom to believe it was true. The court was starting to see that Abigail was not in fact an innocent girl and this was their way of distracting the court from accusing them farther.
