The saying "love is a battlefield" came into play greatly in both Romeo and Juliet and Pocahontas. Both Pocahontas and Juliet were forbidden to love people from certain places or families, but they both decided to go out of these boundaries and fall in love with the people that could hurt their families the most. They trusted and believed in their love with one another, even though it could have turned out badly. There were many similarities between the play and the film and they both had similar plots. In the Shakespearian play, Romeo and Juliet, and the Disney classic, Pocahontas, there were numerous characters and themes that resembled each other. To start off, Juliet and Pocahontas resembled each other in various ways. They both came off as very quiet and obedient, and they seemed to listen to their parents. She resembled the Nurse because she was Pocahontas' only real female companion and she could talk to her. Juliet was very close to the Nurse because she was the only female that she could talk to. In both situations, the Nurse and Nakoma do everything in their will to try to help Juliet and Pocahontas. Lastly, Pocahontas' father, Powhatan, and Juliet's father, Lord Capulet, resemble each other significantly. They resembled each other because they both cared about their daughters an enormous amount. They wanted nothing but the best for them and they tried their best to succeed in doing that. They both knew who they wanted their daughter's to marry and they tried to set it in stone for them.
