In the writing of Stephen King, Wally Lamb, Karen Thompson Walker, and the writer of Pixar's Andrew Stanton, I have learned various insights into writing as an art. Where Stephen King suggested to start from the beginning without knowing the ending, in order to keep yourself immersed within the reading and writing process. Wally Lamb on the other hand felt the need to get into your characters shoes so that you can get a feel for the movement of the book. Karen Thompson Walker taught me that fears are stories and ways to feel an emotional connection with the reader. Andrew Stanton had this idea of knowing what you say leads to a singular goal, which allows the writer to focus on their subjects and the emotional implication of their writing.
