Sir Gawain faced many terrifying trials and challenges throughout his story as a knight. Written by The Pearl Poet, “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” clearly portrays Gawain as a courageous knight. He was a more courageous knight in the poem as opposed to “Le’Morte de Arthur” by Sir Thomas Malory.
