The events in the Salem Witch Trials that were documented in The Crucible describe the hysteria of people believing in and accusing people of witchcraft. It is commonly said that history repeats itself, and in this case, it has. There are similar events that have occurred and are still happening in some regions of Africa right now. The trials in Salem and Africa are very similar because they both are due to witchcraft, and innocent people are sent to jail and killed for it.
Children in Congo and Angola, Africa, are beaten, tortured, and banished from households for showing suspicious witch-like traits. In Gambia, the president had hundreds of people beaten and tortured just so he could locate the witch who killed his aunt, which no one even
