I am reading Carrot Cake Murder and finished Gone. I will start with Gone so towards the end of this book it a lot of action and suspence with the kidnapping as the UNSUB strikes again and kidnaps another suspect. The police are doing everything they can to find Rainie and Dougie and bring them back safely. The Carrot Cake Murder is about this girl named Hannah who went out in search of her friend Gus when she fiinds him stabbed at a bar with two pieces of her carrot cake by him. In this paper I will be telling about Identiy, love, and truth.

In Gone I think Rainie is really trying to find her identity while she is still trying to keep her life somewhat held together. She was trying to make others see her as more of a nonchalant person but, you see her struggling a little during the begining with her drinking getting out of control and then Quincy giving her space because of her drinking. It is like a small circle of things that kept reoccurring. I feel like she did not know what to do so drinking was always her choice. Then towards the end when she just regrets it and wants quincy and how she does not wanna drink anymore. “The voice, maybe in her head, of Quincy saying I love you“ (Gardner 326) Being kidnapped almost scared her into reality like it was a wakeup call she loves quincy and needs to stop leading herself

He had lots of esteem towards Rainie. It was a sacrifice for him but if it made her happier he would take it. Love is sacrifices and Quincy knew that. He never stopped loving Rainie and as she went missing he could only think how it was his fault because he was not there to help her with her drinking.
