Dystopian Books There are many reasons why teens like dystopian novella. In these stories there are rebellious people who don’t obey the law. Teenagers relate to these books because they don’t want to follow strict rules teenagers do what they want to do. One last reason why they realate is because they don’t want to be around all the adults. So teens can relate to Anthem because the system is broken. The Giver and Anthem are relate to the teenagers in many ways but not in all ways. In the book Anthem the parents never meet there kids. This means when the kids grow up they will never know who their birth parents are. In Anthem all the jobs that people have are assigned to them and they must do that without question. To add in Anthem there is no touching of the other sex because it is forbidden. They are also not allowed feelings for feelings were wrong.("Such thoughts as these are forbidden, Golden One."Rand). In the giver there were only two people who saw all colors but black and white. They were not allowed to tell what they were doing, the two were also the only ones allowed to lie about there job. In the giver if you touched someone else of the other sex, a speaker would tell you to stop. In the giver the main character had feelings for someone but he did not know how to explain it. ( My chest hurts but, … it’s good scene 7). This shows that they don’t know what love feels like but they know they are feeling something
