John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. When one is running for president, people want to know if that candidate can lead a nation. In a presidential election, you have two major political parties, there is a democratic and republican party. The difference between a democratic and republican, a Republican is more conservative on issues, they are against gay marriage and oppose abortion. But, Democratic promotes same-sex marriage and abortion. In this year presidential election, Hillary Clinton democrat and Ben Carson republican have elected to step up to the platform as they compete for the peoples vote and Americas future. Statistically speaking the odds were stacked up against him. Ben’s Mother, Sonya, grew up in foster care and only completed third grade, but urge her children to go beyond these circumstances through understanding and building their knowledge of the world (“Carson” 2). Ray Lewis said, “No matter the circumstances that you may be going through, just pushed through it. Although Carson had a tough childhood, it didn’t hinder him from pursuing his ultimate dream to become a physician. As he began to do what his mother instill in him, he began to value reading, which resulted in dramatic improvement in his grades and he started to develop a life-long love affair with learning. He succeed in high school and attended Yale University, where he met Candy, who became his wife. After graduating from college, he relocated to Baltimore, where he trained at John Hopkins University Medical School. After a while, Baltimore became his home for most of his career, as he went on to be a pediatric neurosurgeon at John Hopkins Children’s center for 29 years (“Carson” 3). Carson was a very successful surgeon and had received many awards.
