The movie “A Dolls House” is an old fashioned play with several symbolic key elements that are directly related to “The Story of an Hour.” These key elements such as the domination of the man over his wife in the 19th century, the fact of how it was socially unacceptable for a woman to divorce her husband, the husband made all decisions for both of them, and how a woman's place was first and foremost as wife and mother.
