Elie Wiesel’s courage and optimism can be compared to The Diary of Anne Frank, who was a young Jewish girl. Anne Frank describes her family’s struggle to hide when Nazi’s were searching for Jews in Netherlands. Despite of her conditions and suffering, she remained strong, hopeful and tried to not lose her trust in humanity. “Even in darkness, it is possible to create light” (Brainy Quotes). Wiesel stayed strong after seeing his father die and other horrific things such as children dying. He believes that even in the darkness moments, light will shine somehow.
