When comparing quality hospitals one has a lot of thinking and decision making. For instance do they go from word of mouth or from research that they have done or do they just go and hope for the very best. Comparing Uintah Basin Medical Center against home town hospital Ashely Reginald Medical Center. They are exactly a half hour apart travel wise. One thing that is very noticeable in the comparison of these two medical centers, is the noise around the rooms at night was in desperate need of work. Only problem is that in order to eliminate all the noise outside of the room would to be to eliminate all machines that keep things running correctly and all the staff and personal that take care of the patients and the machines that monitor your conditions. Sound proof rooms are in the hospital for the patients privacy but in order to completely sound proof a room if a patient was to get hurt or something nobody would be able to hear them if the room was complete sound proof but measures have been made to make patients more comfortable and the hall ways outside the rooms more quite. The biggest problem with noise outside a room is visitors coming and going also you have the staff going in and out and pushing equipment up and down the hall way checking on patients throughout the night. According to a study conducted by Herman Miller; it says that “the reason sound proofing rooms are widely ignored so much is because proper sound proofing companies need to be contracted before any construction begins and not after it begins”.
