The Differences? Love is a emotion that you feel that would led you to whether it's losing opportunities or to a new great change. In the ‘Catch the Moon’ and ‘The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant’ are both different in their prescriptive of theme. The author of ‘Catch the Moon’ is Judith Ortiz Cofer and she suggests that love could determine a change to the good by improvements. But the author of ‘ The Bass, The River, Sheila Mant’ is W.D.Wetherell and he suggest that love changes you who you are not but it would led to unlimited regret and disappointments. Although both author point towards love, but each character has its own conflict, theme, and solution. In the story of ‘Catch the Moon’, The main character is Luis Cintron and he didn't get along with his father very well after his mother death. However, in the story of ‘ Catch the Moon’ , Luis who changed after meeting Naomi which he has never experienced love after his mother pass. The solution of his decision was once he cut off the fishing line of the big bass and decided on Sheila but toward the end short story Sheila Mant ditched him which made him regret as it states “There would be other Sheila Mant in my life, other fish, and through I came close once or twice, It was these secret hidden tugging in the night that claimed me, and I never made the same mistake again” ( Wetherell 250). The theme of ‘ The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant’ is that love doesn't always works but you just have to pick the right one and the one that you will not have full of regret
