As we all know, it took bravery, courage, and bloodshed for America to be as great as it is now. This involved the American Revolution, the rebellions, and the right mind to come up with the Constitution. However, the Constitution was not the “first constitution” of America, the Articles of Confederation were. The reason we do not have the Articles of Confederation is because not all thirteen states agreed with its policies. The Constitution surpasses the Articles of Confederation because of its policies, the reason for the change, and what the writers did.

The Articles of Confederation and the Constitution are similar in many ways, but different in many ways too. For example, the Articles of Confederation states that the states have sovereign, verse, where the Constitution says the people of the whole nation are sovereign and is divided between states and government. Another difference between the two, is that the new document has three branches of government. There is the legislative branch, executive branch, and the judicial branch. These each have specific powers and control how much power each has, also known as the checks and balances. This is to make sure that one branch does not become more dominant over the other
