Born in England in 1737, Thomas pain was raised by parents who were uneducated farmers. When he was young he was educated as an apprentice in his father’s corset business, but when he got older he served as a merchant seaman before starting his own corset business ("Thomas Paine Biography for Kids «," n.d.).
Thomas’s debated a lot about religion and religion would form a big part of his lifetime. He marked some of his papers on the subject. A few people state that he was a disbeliever who didn’t believe in god, but then again he stated lots of times that he did accept there was a god ("Biography for Kids: Thomas Paine," n.d.).
