Dear Mr. Shepard Pittman, I would like to formally inform you that Miss. Gray a substitute/replacement for Mrs. McGraw isn’t doing her job to the best of her abilities nor at all may I add. For the last 2 weeks the students of her Academic Mentoring have been interrupted while doing work to watch a video very off topic, disrespected, and not listened to. On the very first day of school she established the rules like – eating (make sure you clean up your mess), we can talk (in an appropriate school/classroom voice), and make sure we do any work we have and come to her with questions if we have any – ever since that one A.M. class the rules have totally changed and not in a good, productive way either. The environment of the class room isn’t what it should be. Students should what to come in and do work and feel like that they are going to get help from their teacher but that is the exact opposite of what Miss. Gray’s room is. Her room has an environment of dictatorship, very unwelcoming, and students would rather skip that class than actually go which is a pity. Miss. Gray is a nice woman (from what I saw on the first day) but I personally feel like she is like a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. She seems to be getting more and more aggravated by the day which is very understandable seeing since she has to deal with hundreds of other students but teacher should never take their frustrations out on their students. Miss. Gray denies us very simple request like going to the bathroom to get tissue (because there is none in the classroom), she won’t let students throw trash away, and she doesn’t let her students work together on homework or even let us help their peers with their work. Miss. Gray has this moment every class when she shuts down and doesn’t allow her students to ask her questions let alone talk to her. Whenever peers cannot help a certain student and that student ask for Miss. Gray’s help she doesn’t even consider trying to help. Miss. Gray doesn’t let her students listen to music even though it clearly states in the HSD Student-Parent Handbook and Behavior Guide on page 78, lines 1-5, that students can listened to music as long as it is
