Independently conducted background/security checks using the Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS) and other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases while concurrently querying the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for wants/ warrants and other relevant records. Reviewed and evaluated computerized criminal history and, fingerprint results to determine an individual's suitability for naturalization or other immigration benefits.

Conducted face-to-face interviews to verify the accuracy of the application,address any omissions that are present on the application while noting verbal/nonverbal behavioral responses

Analyzed all factual and legal circumstances of the applicant’s case and reviewed the totality of the circumstances to include factors such as: severity of crime, time since crime committed, other criminal conduct, reformation, immigration history, including method of entry, length of presence in the U.S., and prior immigration violations, and contributions to society to include the pursuit of education and military service.
