There is a problem that remains unsolved. It all started in 1850. At the time, the United States of America allowed slavery. The northern states didn't like slavery, but the southern ones did. The south wanted slaves to help produce cotton. It helped their economy a lot. One day, Henry Clay proposed the Compromise of 1850, meaning that California, a new state, would be mostly free and the rest would be up to the people. That also undid the Missouri Compromise, meaning anything below Missouri was a slave territory, anything above it was a free territory. Both sides were outraged, causing the South to attack Fort Sumter. The rest it yet to come.
