Individual Strengths:
I have a good character with people. I am positive person with everyone because I feel the importance to create a good environment for everyone. I can see the good things of this live. We work in the same level of work. If something happened with a program, we have a special meeting to revise the goals and ask to the coordinator of the program if they need more support or how we can help them.
I feel part of the team. I know that collaboration is a key in my job if I want to see results for the programs. I feel that they hear me and do not ignore my suggestions, it is why I like to work with Comunidades Unidas.
Organizational Strengths:
I am part of a peer mentoring program. This program helps immigrants or international (more Hispanic/Latino population) students to understand the college system. We have different workshops where we learn some skills, like how works CANVAS, how to navigate my page (SLCC) or CIS (U of U), or how and who can apply financial aid, and other things. It was nice because people are really scary in a new system and this program really help to navigate the system. The only important thing is: you learn to navigate the system, so you are able to help another student to navigate the college.
This program contributes in me to help other students or people and spread the word if they can apply for scholarship or apply for resources. I feel useful in my daily life because I have knowledge.
