Our first concert of the year felt long, but that is understandable being that we had three bands and four choirs. We played a total of two pieces just for our wind ensemble. Both of our pieces are program music that well display the visual effect through the use of dynamics, intonation, counting, and waiting. Our first piece was Alligator Alley by Michael Daugherty written for his daughter. The beginning was a bit shaky and was not blended nicely, but that is common when first starting your piece. The quarter notes blended and were lined up nicely. Percussions smacks with the sticks is the perfect part added into this piece. It was a bit reedy at measure seventy one. At measure seventy eight, every one blended into a nice sounding ensemble. Our cannon adding in had amazing dynamics. SaucdoAround measure six we missed a whole beat and it seems like it threw a lot of people off. Our tempo skyrocketed. Around measure thirty seven we rushed majorly and our notes were cut short as if they were cut in half. Every hit was rushed faster and shorter as they kept going. Intonation around measure sixty was rough, as if people were off. Some saxophones were reading the wrong measure in the phrase around sixty-six. Winds were well blended. We jumped the beat also. At measure seventy-nine our molto ritardando was great and added a great deal of color to this composition. At eighty-six our climax was great and well enjoyable by everyone and the resolution at measure ninety-four was a great deal of a difference from the climax. After measure one hundred three is sounded as the lows were off beat. At measure one-hundred-twenty-one, we did not blend well. At the two four measure, we were off beat for sure for at least a measure. It was our best piece, because dynamics, blending, and intonation were great in this
